1. What’s the story behind the blog name?

Originally my blog was called “The Book Babbler”, it was on WordPress and I had to do it for a university assignment! It was called “The Book Babbl for the simple reason that I tend to babble on about nothing! When I ‘moved’ to Blogger, I decided I didn’t like that name anymore and wanted something new and something nobody else had and I came up with my current one because I love the printed word, even when I read on my e-reader, I’ve made it so the page flips! :) – By the way, that assignment was the best cos I totally love my blog now :)


2. Where is your favorite place to read?

Probably in bed but this can be detrimental to my sleeping habits! I always stay up until about 1.30am if I really love the book! Also, I just enjoy curling up on the couch and reading a book too!

3.  E-book or Hardcopy?

Well, thanks to my dad and step-mum who bought me a tablet with an e-reader for my birthday, I can really see how people get addicted to reading e-books, however, I adore my hardcopies and paperbacks and I always buy in hardcopy if I’m in love with the cover because it looks pretty on my shelf :D, add to the fact there’s just something about a broken in spine that I love.

4. Favorite book and why?

Harry Potter series, hands down. Why? Oh god. Hmm, J.K. Rowling is a master storyteller. I love how she put all these tiny little details in each book that you think are insignificant at the time but then they can turn out to be extremely helpful or turn into something huge in another book. I also love the plot, unlike so many other books, the main characters have a real purpose and a reason for everything they do, including Voldemort. In other books, it feels that sometimes the villain is created specifically for the main protagonist and whilst Voldemort obviously loathes Harry, there is a reason for this and that wasn’t how it always was. I could talk about Harry Potter forever, but there you go :)

5. What are your inspirations?

In general? Or if I attempt to write something? If it’s the former, I would have to say my step-mum and my mum, they’ve both been through an incredible amount of pain and hurt and they’re both the most wonderful people. I can tell everything to both of them and if I tell them I want to be a famous actress acting alongside Hugh Jackman one day, they won’t laugh, they encourage me! In regards to writing (which I’ve only just started to attempt :S), it would just have to be any writer who is published who really had to work to get where they are now. I am inspired by writers who didn’t get the easy way into being published. I really value hard work.

6. What do you like to do in your free time?

Apart from reading… I enjoy watching movies, I enjoy learning new things (boring, I know right?), I enjoy the nightlife/going out with friends, going out for lunch with my girls and sometimes I go into the city to shop if I have the money (which isn’t often).

7. Name a dessert, a color, a drink?

Chocolate pudding, purple, water/Coke

8. Favorite Coffee Shop?

Uhh, I’m not too big on coffee and Western Australia is pretty stingy on the coffee shop variety, but I’d have to go with Dome… especially when there used to be a Dome in Borders before it closed – along with every other book shop in Australia :( - I used to love going into there and getting a latte or a cake :D

9. If you could be one character, who would you be and why?

Sita from Christopher Pike’s Last Vampire series.. Sita is awesome, she is over 5000 years old, a vampire, has incredible strength and all that jazz and she is such a well-developed character. Although she is a vampire, she has so much feeling.  To everybody who hasn’t read The Last Vampire series (or the Thirst series, whatever), READ THEM NOW!
