Once Upon a Read-a-Thon
Okay, so it is now the third and final day in this read-a-thon. I didn't read much at all yesterday. I started In Honor by Jessi Kirby but I had to go to a silly Block Party meeting because my block is going to be having a Block Party at the end of August. But anyways here's my update:

Books Read/Started:
Never Eighteen by Megan Bostic
In Honor by Jessi Kirby

Books To Finish/Start:
In Honor by Jessi Kirby (I want it finished)
Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard (I want it finished)
Becoming Chloe by Catherine Ryan Hyde (I want it started)

Challenges Accepted:
Monday:

Tuesday:
Stiletto Storytime

Wednesday:

Also, here is the challenge post for The Reader Bee! :]

What is your most anticipated book for 2012?
(It can be an upcoming release, or one that's already been released.)

In Honor was definitely my most anticipated and I'm super excited that I started it. So, without further ado, I'm going back to reading now :]

xo Stephanie

****UPDATE::: So I finished In Honor, so I read a total of 2 books and I started Wanderlove. So I didn't hit 3 books read but at least I started the 3rd book! So I'm still happy :]

Once Upon A Read-a-Thon

Once Upon a Read-a-Thon
This Readathon is hosted by Lori at Pure Imagination, Candace at Candace's Book Blog, and Angela at Reading Angel It runs from 12:01 AM on July 9 to 11:59 PM on July 11th.
What is a Readathon?
A Readathon is where you set a goal for yourself to read more books that is beyond your average number of books you read.  There is no minimum, it's all up to you!  Push yourself to get some of those books read that have been sitting on your shelves for awhile!  You can read anything you like.  Any genre, any subject.

What you do:
To participate in the Once Upon a Readathon you enter into the linky below.  It's the same linky on all our blogs, so only enter into it ONCE! Then grab the button and post it on your sidebar to spread the word and so you don't forget.  Then, from 12:01 am on July 9th to 11:59 pm on July 11th you read, read, and read some more!  Make sure you do at least one update post (if you don't have a blog you may do this on facebook and/or twitter) and participate in at least one challenge.

My goal is to read:
1. Never Eighteen by Megan Bostic
2. In Honor by Jessi Kirby
3. Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard
4. Becoming Chloe by Catherine Ryan Hyde
5. Saving June by Hannah Harrington
6. The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour
7. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

At least 3 of them, hopefully more!

  • Bout of Books is low pressure, meaning participants are only asked to push themselves to read more than they normally would during any given week. There is no competition between readers.
  • How much time a reader wants, and can commit, to read, tweet, or network with fellow bloggers is left to individual preference. All challenges and giveaways are optional.

Road Trip Challenge/Feature

So, it's getting to that time...ROAD TRIP! Yes, it's getting warmer and it's just about that time where everyone starts planning a road trip or thinks about a road trip. So I had this idea. Why not have some kind of feature/challenge that incorporates YA novels about road trips?! I know sounds like fun, right?

So, I was thinking about joining forces with some other bloggers (let me know if you're interested!) and putting together a month dedicated to road trips. I was thinking there could be giveaways, challenges/trivia, maybe a scavenger hunt of some sort, hopefully some interviews with some authors of the road trip novels, maybe some guest posts. And the list can go on, this is just what is on the top of my head. Also, if you have any other ideas that could incorporate with this, let me know! :D

I have started to compile a list of books that feature a road trip in it and I will be posting that as another page. If you know of any books that I have forgotten, please let me know and I will add it to the list.

TBR Pile- Reading Challenge

Everyone has these books. You know, the books you buy or get as a present that you really want to read but they end up just going on your shelf and collecting dust. Well, guess what?! Here's your chance to wipe the dust away and actually get to reading them! I'm joining and there's so much more. There will be mini-challenges and giveaways and other fun stuff! I'll post the guidelines and the schedule from Evie @ Bookish at the end of my post.

Here's what's in my TBR pile (I will have a full list as a page, for now.. just a few :D)
1. Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
2. Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz
3. Awake At Dawn by C.C. Hunter
4. 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson
5. Wings by Aprillyne Pike
6. A Great And Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
7. The Entire House of Night Series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
8. The Immortals Series by Alyson Noel
9. The Luxe Series by Anna Godbersen
...And so many more!

Challenge guidelines:

  1. This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2012 - Dec 31, 2012.
  2. As we would like to see quality reviews linked up to our monthly wrap-ups, only bloggers can enter. Sorry about that!
  3. Any genre, length or format of book counts, as long as it is a book that's been sitting on your shelf for some time now. Only books released in 2011 and earlier! NO ARCs and 2012 fresh-off-the-press releases allowed!
  4. You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap-up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you.
  5. When you sign up in the linky, put the direct link to your post about joining the 2012 TBR PILE Reading Challenge (You need to include the info + host list + challenge button. You can also grab the button code and add it to your sidebar!)
  6. You can move up levels, but no moving down.
  7. Sign-ups will be open until Dec 15, 2012, so feel free to join at any time throughout the year.
  8. At the end of each month one of the hosts will post a wrap-up. Every wrap-up will have it'sunique theme, a mini-challenge, a giveaway and place for you to link up your reviews from this month. For each review you link up, you will get one entry in a drawing of one book of choice from Book Depository. It's open to INTERNATIONALS. For participating in the mini-challenge you will get +1 entry.
  9. If you miss a wrap-up post + giveaway, you can link up your reviews next month. Do not, however, try to link up one review twice - we will be checking ;)
  10. December is a wrap-up for the whole year. All the book reviews you linked up January-November + the ones you'll link up in December will be entered into a HUGE giveaway - 12 books, 12 winners, INTERNATIONAL.
  11. You don't have to follow all the hosts to join the challenge, but you do have to follow all of us to be entered in giveaways!
